Arrived 11-21-99 crossed to the Bridge 1-12-02
Her age finally caught up with her and she just went down and would not, or could not, get up anymore. The Vet said there was nothing to be done for her so she was gently, lovingly helped to the Bridge. Rest in peace little girl and know you will be missed.

Kookie: Lhasa Apso, moved in 11-21-99 (Spayed female 15 years old on arrival)

Kookie's owner had a medical problem and had to be in assisted living. The plan was for Kookie to be here a month or so and then to go home. So far the healing is not going as well as hoped and Kookie is still here. She is a darling little dog, refuses to learn the dog door, is housebroken if I see her headed up the hall toward the back door. <grin> She gets along well with the other dogs, cats and most people. She is welcome to stay as long as she needs to and has settled in well. Welcome to the SDHR pack little girl.

Arrived 7-22-01 crossed to the Bridge 1-12-02
This morning the sweet King lost all connection with his body and tried to chew his tail off. His pain was evident and once at the Vet, the sad decision to let him go was made. There was nothing medically to be done for him so he passed to the Bridge in my arms. Romp well little Dude and know the place you hold in my heart will remain for all time.

10-19-01 Retired to SDHR care
Sweet, Gentle Senior!
"King Arthur" is about an 8 year old Pekingese that was rescued from a shelter in Renton, WA. He is neutered, shots current with clean, shiny teeth though he did loose a few during the cleaning. He is a quiet, mostly blind, stoic little guy that also has scarred corneas due to untreated entropian. He now needs to have his eyes washed out and "tears" put in to keep his eyes moist. He takes the treatment like a champ and is a gentle, tail wagging little dude. If you are looking for a sweet companion, look no further. This little man is the one to keep you company as you pass through this life.

10-19-01 Arthur has been failing and is now here for the rest of his life. He is well loved and will continue to be as long as he chooses to stay. Welcome to the permanent pack sweet boy!!

Arrived 8-4-97 crossed to the Bridge 12-10-02
He had a tumor inside near his rectum that had been operated on twice before and there was no longer any way to operate again. It had grown too large and there was nothing that could be done for him at this point. "Honk" well at the Bridge big guy and know I will see you again one day!
Cedric: Black and Tan "tweenie" Dachshund, born 5-2-88, moved in 8-4-97. (Neutered Male, 9 on arrival)

I moved here from San Francisco, California where I was born. Mom found me on the internet when I needed a home and I was driven to Montana by a nice lady. My rap was that I bit the toddler. I am an Alpha wannabe but Buddy won't allow that here. I love to play fetch the ball, chase the cats and bite the snow. As you can see, I am also "KING" of the dog beds!!

Arrived 5-6-98 crossed to the Bridge 12-10-02
Her cancer had spread to the point there was no longer anything that could be done for her. Rest in peace little girl and know you were well loved and will be missed. Keep peace at the Bridge and wait for me to come collect you once again.

Tiffany: Black and Tan Mini Dachshund, born 1-88, moved in 5-6-98. (Spayed Female, 10 on arrival)

I was saved from going to the shelter by a nice couple and their two daughters in San Jose, CA. They kept me for almost two years before finding just the right home for me. My new mom saw my need for a home on the internet and her heart went out to me. Now I live in Montana with a lot of brothers and sisters. I am an Alpha female so we all get along fine as long as no one bothers me when I do not want to be bothered.
